Temporary Housing Directory (THD) and USAA have joined forces to provide temporary housing to its members.
The change came about recently when USAA — which also provides banking, investment, and retirement products to more than 13 million current and former members of the U.S. military and their families — looked for a supplier that would provide innovative tools to simplify the claims process for both members and adjusters.
“Our company heavily leverages technology — something that’s so important when a fire or a tornado hits and our families’ lives literally change in seconds,” THD President Teresa Vidger said. “USAA sought a technology provider that would reduce its adjusters’ workloads, freeing them to help more members in a shorter amount of time while not compromising the quality of service their members deserve and expect.
“We are that company.”
The company’s technology-forward features include:
❖ a platform providing claimants the power to self-book hotels from a list of pre-approved options;
❖ a bid platform where THD’s substantial network of housing partners and property management companies can submit bids from their core inventories;
❖ the power to manage receipts and ALE expenses digitally; and
❖ the ability for adjusters to see all claim activity in real time and submit approvals while reviewing placement files.
“Somehow it seems fitting that our alignment with USAA, who also strives to be a leader in innovation, compliments our strategy and makes all of this available to their members,” Vidger concluded.
