THD Caring Staff Take Client’s Situation to Heart forming lasting Friendships.

Allison Newlin, Account Manager at THD recently had the privilege of helping a new customer and his wife. They had a home fire and thank goodness had both got out safely. THD placed them in a hotel while looking for long term housing for them. Allison spoke with our customer the Friday before she left for the weekend and his wife was in the background talking about different things she would like to have in the temporary housing. On that weekend Allison checked her email and read that the wife had passed away at the hotel. Allison was devastated and thought to herself how much more can this family take.

On Monday Allison was not sure how she was going to talk with her customer after all he had been through. His home gone and now his wife. However, he made it very easy for Allison, his strength during this time in his life was incredible. He told her he was not sure if there were kind hearted people left in this world, but the THD family made him realize there is still good in our world! It really put her life in perspective.

Over the next weeks and months as she found temporary housing for him and got him moved in, their friendship had grown, and one she will never forget. Yvonne and Cora at THD have also become great friends to him, helping him transition during this time. He has no children of his own and family that lives in other states. He was truly alone. He called THD every week and was sure to talk with each of us just to check in. He is still currently in temporary housing and his home is slowly but surely being rebuilt. Allison knows he is ready to get back to his home and restart his life. She told him he always has a friend with her and anytime he is in Dallas to call her and she will have a warm meal waiting. He is the kindest person with a huge heart. He has truly humbled her and our team at THD and reminded us to treat every day as a gift.
